Charissa

Charissa Ruth Freelance Educator

Charissa is currently working as a freelance educator at several institutions including the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, the Cooper Hewitt Museum, and the Brooklyn Public Library. She enjoys having so many opportunities to work with such varied audiences and ages! She believes that museums and other cultural institutions are truly inspirational spaces for every kind of learner and she enjoys sharing all the wonderful things she is learning about and teaching about through her Instagram account @lookwhereyagoin. She is also a graduate from the Bank Street College's Museum Education Program and University of South Carolina Honor College's Anthropology Program. Charissa is the coordinator for the Freelancer Peer Group.

NYCMER Meet-Up at Dia:Beacon

Where: Dia:Beacon
3 Beekman Street

When:1:15 pm - 3:15 pm

Workshop Organizer: NYCMER

Explore the dynamic, site-related exhibitions of Dia:Beacon on the banks of the Hudson River in Beacon, N.Y. with fellow NYCMER members. During this meet-up, participants will join guided tours to experience the foundation's incredible collection of art from the 1960s to the present and engage in conversation with Dia education staff. Following exploration of the galleries, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and connect with colleagues for further conversation.

Participants are also welcome to arrive early and stay late, the museum is open from 11am - 6pm.


Transportation
Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Dia:Beacon. The MTA's Metro North Railroad's Hudson Line offers train service from Grand Central Station to Beacon Station.

Dia:Beacon has accessible parking, galleries, and bathrooms, as well as access by elevators to all levels. Wheelchairs are available for visitor use and reservations are not required. Only working assistance and guide animals are permitted, pets are not allowed.
