Ellysheva

Ellysheva Zeira Education Assistant for Access Lower East Side Tenement Museum

Ellysheva is a Senior Educator at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum (LESTM), where she gives public tours of the historic tenement, walking tours, facilitated discussion tours, as well as tours to school groups from across the country and around the globe. She is also involved in the creation and implementation of new tours, programs and polices. Before her time as an educator at the LESTM, she worked as a research intern for the LESTM's Education Department.  She also currently works as an office manager for a small executive search firm. Ellysheva has a Bachelor's Degree in English and American Literature as well as History from New York University. She is originally from New Hampshire and currently lives in Brooklyn.

Focus: We will be focusing on applying what we discussed at November’s meeting to our site visit to the Ukrainian Museum- what does “international understanding” mean for museums specifically, what is necessary to promote these goals within the museum’s programs and exhibitions, and does the museum meet these goals/how so. There are a few beautiful exhibitions currently up that will help spark our discussions!
