Charissa Ruth Lead Educator Gulliver's Gate

Charissa is currently working as Lead Educator at Gulliver's Gate, working a team to develop educational programs for school groups, families, teenagers, and many others. She believes that museums and other cultural institutions are truly inspirational spaces for every kind of learner and she enjoys sharing all the wonderful things she is learning about and teaching about through her Instagram account @lookwhereyagoin. She is also a graduate from the Bank Street College's Museum Education Program and University of South Carolina Honor College's Anthropology Program. Her dream job? Working for SNL.

We’ll continue our discussion from last meeting about Cultural Sensitivity & Dealing with Difficult Situations. We will focus on general language/best practices to being culturally sensitive, situations where we’ve had to deal with this at our institutions, and how best to train your docent/volunteer staff to be aware of this.
