LGBTQ+ and Allies Peer Group Meeting

Where: Leslie-Lohman Museum
26 Wooster St
New York, NY

When:6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The AAM LGBTQ+ Alliance developed Welcoming Guidelines for Museums to provide institutions and staff with best practices for becoming inclusive.  The first edition was launched in 2016 and updated in 2019. Last year, Toolkits for Gender Inclusion, for individuals and institutions, were added. They can all be found on the AAM web page.

Currently in development is a Toolkit on LGBTQ+ Inclusion which focuses specifically on training frontline personnel (security, staff, volunteers, docents, etc.).  Barbara Stratyner, who serves as Co-Chair of the Task Force for guidelines and toolkits, will introduce the projects and lead an open discussion on how we can make our entrances welcoming.

To RSVP, please email Michael Stevens, LGTBQ+ and Allies Peer Group.
