Deena Bak Museum Educator and Visitor Experience Agent Queens Museum

Deena Bak is a passionate and innovative museum educator and visual artist. Working at both the Queens Museum and the Voelker Orth Museum, Bird Sanctuary, and Victorian Garden, Bak uses her formal training in visual arts to share a comfort for and love of the arts with others and to find ways to integrate hands-on visual arts practice with in-gallery education. Bak strives to provide museum experiences that are engaging and accessible for a diverse range of audiences and encourage a wide range of viewpoints.

Deena Bak was the 2013 recipient of the Fulkerson Leadership in the Arts Award for her contributions to the Williams College Museum of Art and Williams College art community. In addition to teaching, her professional experiences include developing school tours and art workshops, designing and leading community-based art projects, producing pre- and –post visit resources for teachers, leading teacher workshops, training tour guides, designing interactive family gallery activities and family-centered museum programming, and managing education administration and outreach.
