Job Title: Studio Assistant


Description: The Dedalus Foundation was founded in 1981 by the artist Robert Motherwell to support public understanding and appreciation of the principles of modern art and modernism. The Foundation follows Robert Motherwell’s belief that exposure to the arts greatly benefits individuals of all ages, offering free visual arts programming including regular Satruday Programs: Family Art-Making, Art Explorations, Family-Art Making in Spanish, and Middle School Portfolio Development. ( Description: The Studio Assistant will work with staff to create a welcoming and safe environment for all program participants by assisting with logistics and workshop facilitation as needed. The Studio Assistant will be supervised by Education and Public Programs Manager and Programs Associate. Specific duties include: Classroom Support: -take attendance in all programs -check in with educators, students, and families on a regular basis - work closely with teen interns - assist with physical set-up and break-down for all workshops Administrative Support: -photograph programs -identify issues in need of follow up by programs staff - assist with maintenance of materials inventory Hours: Saturdays 9am-5:30pm, occasional weekday afternoons dependent upon availability and needs of programs

Qualifications: Qualifications: - Minimum of 1-2 year of experience working with children in a classroom setting - Strong foundation in Art History, Studio Art, Art Administration and/or Education - Ability to interact confidently with multigenerational audiences- Excellent oral communication skills- Ability to be a positive role model for youth and establish relationships with individuals as an engaging mentor- Possess excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and positive problem-solving skills - Flexibility and ability to prioritize- Strong preference for candidates bilingual in English and Spanish or Cantonese
