Description: The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City is one of the premier science, research and cultural institutions in the country. The American Museum of Natural History is seeking: a Student & Alumni Engagement Manager to support its new, computational science-focused education initiative, BridgeUP: STEM. The position will leverage the findings of BridgeUP’s first four years to generate long-term support for participants’ success in computer and science higher education and careers. The position will create a network of BridgeUP: STEM graduates; support annual cohorts of Brown Scholars for specific college and career prep opportunities; build partnerships for the program among universities and the tech sector; and be part of a team managing Museum’s youth alumni programming across all youth programs. The successful candidate is a highly organized individual, excellent communicator with deep experience in youth development and education programs.

Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Education, Career Counseling or a relevant field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates without a master’s degree must have at least 7 years of work experience as described below.- Candidates with a Masters degree must have at least 5 years of experience in Youth Education, specifically providing support or managing programs for scholarships, fellowships, internships, outreach, mentoring, or similar programs designed to meet the financial and/or development needs of high school and/or undergraduate students.- Experience identifying and partnering with diverse stakeholders such as universities and tech companies.- Experience organizing and coordinating program events such as career fairs and networking and social events.- Experience providing individual and group career development counseling to high school and/or college students.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
