Organization Description: About Historic Hudson Valley (HHV): Historic Hudson Valley is a Westchester-based cultural non-profit that welcomes visitors to four National Historic Landmarks. The Education department of HHV offers an array of school programs, public tours and programs, and digital offerings for audiences that include K-12 teachers and their students; families seeking weekend leisure activities; and a diverse array of heritage tourists. HHV has a national reputation for groundbreaking on-site interpretation and award-winning digital content in the content areas of Northern colonial and New Nation enslavement, regional women’s history, and storytelling. In conjunction with Education department leadership, the K-12 Program Manager is responsible for the planning, prototyping and execution of high-quality, inclusive K-12 educational programs, (both in-person and digital), content, and hands-on activities for HHV’s historic sites; leading scheduled onsite and virtual field trips; building relationships with schools and conducting outreach to teachers; leading HHV staff training in K-12 resources; facilitating teacher professional development; and supporting Education department public programs. Position Description: The K-12 Program Manager works in conjunction with Education colleagues to research, develop, and implement content and programs for K-12 educators and students.

Discover your opportunities at Yale! Overview The Education Department of the Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) is seeking an Educator for secondary school, college, and university audiences. Reporting to the Head of Education, this position will cultivate and strengthen the YCBA's relationship with Greater New Haven secondary schools, colleges, and universities, and develop opportunities for their students and educators to engage with the museum as a resource for teaching, learning, professional development, and social gathering. Through innovative museum-based engagement and teaching practices, the post-holder will encourage students and educators to make use of the YCBA’s collections and spaces in ways that support curiosity and learning and allow them to explore their own lives and the world through art. Working closely with faculty, teachers, and students in Greater New Haven, as well as colleagues in the YCBA’s Research Department, Study Room, and Reference Library, this role supports both the integration of the YCBA into local learning and engagement and the development of co-curricular pathways that foster students' intellectual, professional, and personal growth. Through mentorship and sustained relationship-building, the Educator oversees and expands opportunities for interacting with the museum and its collections, including through cross-institutional initiatives and internships for students in the city and at Yale. The post-holder will expand our partnerships with secondary schools, colleges, and universities by providing new opportunities for curriculum development and teacher training in object based learning and by creating and facilitating curricular visits using input from school staff and faculty.  They will also oversee existing programs that support visitor engagement, such as teacher workshops, the summer teacher institute, instructional webinars, summer art programs, and writing and photography classes and competitions. The YCBA is a world leader in the study and display of British art and culture and is uniquely positioned to serve both public and academic audiences. This is a fixed duration position of 18 months starting from the date of hire.

Organization Description: Splat Lab is a Montessori-style STEM/arts class with four centers that that change each class: a Main Splat (messy hands-on experiment like slime) Splat Create (art station like paper bag monster puppets) Open Splat (open station like sticker art sheets) and Splat Build (hands-on build station like cup towers). We have hundreds of stations we mix and match each session that are differentiated for each age group. Our Anthropology Arts is an art-based social studies class encouraging curiosity about cultures from around the world and throughout history. Classes start with a drawing activity, a small mini-lesson, and art-making activity where youth can create their own version of an artifact. Popular workshops include Egyptian canopic jars, Chinese dragon robes, and Incan llamas. We offer residencies, pop-ups, camps and slime parties across NYC. Position Description: Master Teaching Artists: Can work alone, are very experienced (5 years minimum), masters level or similar, highly seasoned and are superstars. Lead educators can transition into the MTA role after coaching and approval We will provide virtual training and shadowing opportunities for educators to learn the teaching method and curriculum.  Lead Educators will mentor TAs and give clear directions for their role in each session. Pairs will debrief and communicate frequently about how to make sure workshops are continually high quality, fun, and smooth.

Position Description: The New York Historical is seeking part-time Educators to lead history programs for students ages Pre-K through College in the museum galleries, including the permanent collections, special exhibitions, and the DiMenna Children’s History Museum. The collections of the New York Historical support programming that covers 400 years of New York and American history. Drawing on said world-renowned collections and a staff of passionate professionals, the NYH Education Department engages learners of all ages and abilities in the study of our collective past to deepen content knowledge, develop 21st century skills, and foster an empowered and engaged citizenry. We believe in the power of authentic historical study to spark curiosity and creativity, to promote cultural understanding, and to strengthen our democracy. Under the supervision of the Manager of School Programs, Educators facilitate object-based, inquiry-driven tours and workshops in the museum galleries and classrooms, as well as online in which material culture provides a window into the past. Educators must be available to work between the hours of 9:00AM and 2:00PM at least three business days a week for the majority of the school year.  The New York Historical provides extensive, rigorous training upon hiring and throughout the school year, developing Educators’ museum and history education practice, historical content knowledge, and class management skills. Therefore, candidates must be available for onboarding days October 6th, 7th, and 9th, 10AM-5PM to be considered for the position. If invited for an interview, candidates will be asked to prepare a brief demonstration lesson using information provided by the Education Division.
