Sarah Burroughs Educator, Family & Community Programs Specialist Turtle Back Zoo

Sarah Burroughs is an Educator at the Turtle Back Zoo in Essex County, NJ specializing in Family & Community programming where she started a grant supported Family Nature Club with a partnering organization. She also volunteers as a board member and officer for two local nonprofits and performs remote freelance work regarding evaluations, program development, interpretation design, and social media marketing.
Sarah has earned a B.S. in Zoo Science, M.A. in Museum Education. To complete her Masters she performed original research studying collaboration and education methods between informal institutions and their communities, entitled Conserving Our Urban Nature: Encouraging Environmental Empathy in Community-Based Education Programs. Sarah has worked for numerous institutions in NYC, NJ, DE, PA, and OR.
