Kathleen Henry Manager of Youth and Family Programs Hudson River Museum

<span style=""color:" rgb(51,="" 51,="" 51);="" font-family:="" arial,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 13px;="" line-height:="" 17px;"="">I am a museum educator who has experience engaging diverse museum audiences. My graduate work focused on engaging and relevant museum programming for visitors with dementia. I currently mentor over 50 at-risk teens who turnkey their new knowledge by conducting tours and leading hands-on family projects. Seeing these two very different audiences, I merged them and created Join Me at the Hudson River Museum where I am the Manager of Youth and Family Programs. This new program where teen docents partner with visitors who have dementia to provide them with a stimulating object-based program. I am guided by a mission to think holistically and with the big picture always present. I join together demographics that both need to be served and use budgets resourcefully for maximum impact. Now more than ever, I value thinking out of the box to really see how museums should be used today.
