Several Members of the NYCMER community have reached out with questions regarding the student protests and subsequent police activity on Columbia’s Campus affecting the 2024 Conference. 

Teachers College will require all attendees to present ID upon arrival. 

The NYCMER Board Vice President is in daily communication with Teachers College, who have assured us no events have been disrupted, and there is no anticipation of future disruption. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as needed. 

Attendees seeking to avoid Columbia's main campus may arrive at the 125th street MTA stations and walk south to Teachers College at 120th street. You may see additional traffic barricades on Broadway below 120th street, however this should not impact anyone's ability to access the conference.
