Position Summary:
The Educator of Adult Initiatives and Tour Logistics (EAITL) for Poster House oversees scheduling and logistics of tours and programs for K-12 grade school groups, college groups, special needs groups, and adults-only groups. The EAITL collaborates with the Manager of Education to write tours and coordinate offerings for adult audiences and professional development opportunities. This role is responsible for overseeing the logistics and scheduling for tours to all audiences served as well as developing and delivering professional development opportunities. The EAITL will serve as an additional educator able to deliver tours to all audiences served.
This position reports to the Manager of Education. The regular schedule for this role is 10am-6pm Monday-Friday with flexibility for after-hours and weekend work as needed (approximately ten weekend days per year).
Physical Demands:
Perform desk-based computer tasks, including using a computer screen for long periods of time, typing, and making phone calls
Stand for 60- to 90-minutes at a time while moving about the exhibition space to give tours
Project voice clearly for up to two-hours at a time, occasionally multiple times per day
Adjust or move objects up to 30 lbs in all directions
Poster House currently operates with a hybrid work model with staff working both remotely and on-site. The Educator of Adult Initiatives and Tour Logistics position would be able to participate in this hybrid work model, with an expected minimum of four days per week on site depending on tour volume, while having the ability to attend department and staff meetings in person or virtually. The salary range for the Educator of Adult Initiatives and Tour Logistics role is $68,000–$72,000 commensurate with experience. Full-time Poster House employees receive 2 personal days, 5 sick days, and 2 bereavement days per year, as well as 20 vacation days, and are eligible for an extensive benefits package, including a fully-matched 401K plan after one year of employment at the museum.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
– Coordinate with Director of Operations and Associate Director of Public Programs to schedule school and adult group bookings
– Maintain the inbox for education@posterhouse.org email address and process bookings using Airtable, Square payment system, and Google calendar
– Be the primary educator for curatorial-style tours for adult groups regularly occurring during museum open hours and after hours
– Be an additional educator delivering interactive, inquiry-based tours for middle school, high school, and college groups
– Manage both print and digital education department content including rack card, website content, and calendar
– Assist in the creation of Bloomberg Connects app content development including the creation of audio tours and accessible content on the platform
– Attend weekly staff meetings as well as other meetings as needed
– Oversee language translation of label copy and other touchpoints as needed, and implement it on the museum’s website
– Assist with programmatic offerings during museum’s opening hours, including First Friday programming and occasional weekend programming
Candidate Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
– Experience coordinating logistics and/or overseeing scheduling in a museum setting
– Experience working in informal education, especially with adults-only and multigenerational groups
– Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Museum Studies, History, Design History, Art History, or Fine Art field or equivalent experience
– Self-motivated and able to work alone and in a team environment
– Strong and engaging public speaking skills
– Project management experience, including time management, coordination, and organizational skills
– Flexibility with schedule across all seven days per week as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
– Spanish language fluency and the ability to lead tours for all audiences in Spanish (please indicate fluency in other languages if applicable)
– Experience using Asana, Airtable, Square payment system, Google Suite/Google calendar, or similar project management digital tools
– Experience working in an art museum
– A strong interest in design history
– Experience producing print and digital content
– Experience leading dynamic, engaging tours
