Collaborative meeting with Regional Manhattan Meet Up Group + Access Group + K-12 & Family Programmers

Description:  Many of us work at institutions that claim to be striving to become more equitable, accessible, and diverse spaces. How can we ensure that our institutions are in practice more inclusive? What measures can we put in place to hold our institutions accountable to promises? Who isn’t currently coming to our institutions? How can we measure our success in engaging our local communities? Through small and large group discussions we will reflect upon the efforts our institutions have made to engage with individuals from marginalized communities, and how we can improve. We will also examine the My Museum Initiative at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum which aims to alleviate financial and informational barriers to museums.
