During Climate Week NYC, join colleagues from the Social Justice and International Understanding Peer Groups to explore the intersection of the arts and environmental justice.

RSVP: Tori Lewis, vlewis@nybg.org

At 1 pm, explore and discuss the exhibition Brazilian Modern: The Living Art of Roberto Burle Marx. Burle Marx was a pioneering landscape architect, artist, and activist who spoke out against rain forest destruction in the 1960s and 70s. How should we approach thorny—and sadly timely—political and environmental issues in our exhibits and interpretation?

Stick around for the Climate Change Arts Exchange from 2 to 4. In this lively, multidisciplinary program, performing arts groups will debut new works related to climate change.
