NYCMER Queer Peers x Book Club: Centering Queer Spaces
Apr 27, 2023
Categories Peer Group
Where: In-person meeting @ Bluestockings Cooperative
Address: 116 Suffolk St, New York, NY 10002
Time: 4:30-6PM
Join NYCMER Queer Peers and Book Club on a collaborative meeting to brainstorm ways to center queerness in museum spaces. Through Margaret Middleton’s article Queer Possibility (2020), we will consider how we can illuminate queer narratives that have been historically marginalized by the cis-heteronormative canon. Afterwards, we’ll have the chance to explore Bluestockings’ bookshelves to select books that can uplift LGBTQ+ history and experiences in our respective institutions.
Please note the capacity for this meeting is limited to 20 people. Masks required in the bookstore, masks optional (but encouraged) if cafe doors are closed.
Free for both NYCMER and non-NYCMER members.
