Leslie Hayes

Director of Education New-York Historical Society

Leslie Hayes is the Director of Education at the New-York Historical Society where she oversees N-YHS’s teacher programs, Citizenship Project, and department-wide projects and administration. She is also a curriculum writer on the exciting Women & the American Story initiative. Prior to joining N-YHS, Leslie helped launch the Brooklyn Connections program at Brooklyn Public Library and managed public programs at the South Street Seaport Museum. Leslie served as NYCMER’s Membership Coordinator in 2015-2016 and as a Trustee-at-Large in 2016-2017. She has an MPA from NYU, an MPhil in History from Cambridge University, and a BA in History and English from Penn State.
